Origin Expands Studio - Welcomes Harris Porter as Creative Director.

We are thrilled to announce that Harris Porter - an elite animator with a pedigree stemming from roles with the US Government and major 'Blue Chip' organizations - has joined Origin's award winning Creative Studio as Creative Director. He brings with him exceptional expertise in motion graphics, animation, visual design and the unshakeable belief that a good creative can achieve any objective.

As we continue to secure new agency and brand clients at an ever increasing rate, Harris will assume a central role in preserving Origin's hallmark value of bringing a 'human touch' to everything we create, ensuring each of our clients experience the same award-winning service that has helped brands such as Macy's, Visit Florida, OrangeTheory Fitness and more achieve campaign objectives not previously considered possible on Connected TV.

A Creative Who Can’t Stop Creating

Harris is, at his core, a master of creative imagination. For him, creativity isn’t just a profession, it’s a compulsion. What began as a hobby filming short movies with friends in high school quickly evolved into a lifelong passion, and ultimately, a thriving career in visual storytelling.

Originally earning a BA in Journalism from Auburn University where he refined his ability to communicate meaningfully and clearly through narrative, Harris then dove into an internship with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, documenting disaster recovery and preparedness operations. His work provided critical insight into emergency response efforts, and he continued producing training, educational, and instructional video content for the Corps During that time, Harris simultaneously built a strong portfolio as a freelance motion designer - always hungry for new creative challenges.

Experience Across Technology, Education, and Motion Design

In 2023, Harris joined Cisco as an instructional designer, where he wrote, produced, and animated learning content to help audiences navigate the fast-moving world of technology. The role allowed him to blend clarity, creativity, and technical storytelling - skills that now enrich every project he touches.

Today, Harris brings that same drive, imagination, and technical fluency to Origin, where his skill and energy will be channelled into creating original ideas alongside the rest of Origin's superior Studio team. His multidisciplinary background strengthens our ability to deliver beautifully crafted, strategically impactful video across a diverse range of industries and creative formats.

Commenting on his decision to join Origin, Harris had to following to say - "What really drew me to Origin is its strong, clear sense of identity. So many companies are desperate to appear ‘unique’ without considering the fundamental questions of how and why, which means too much energy goes on pivoting chasing trends to the point where they lose their integrity." He went on to say, "The fact that Origin has such a rock-solid foundation and authentic identity is what makes it so adaptable and dependable. When you know who you are, you can rise to face any challenge. That clarity of purpose is immediately apparent with Origin, and it’s what excites me most about joining such a brilliant team."

A Creator Driven by Curiosity and Craft

While Harris is joining Origin in a professional capacity, his creativity doesn’t clock out at the end of the day. Outside of work - and to the benefit of Origin and its clients - he continually refines his skills across a staggering range of disciplines including motion graphics, animation, VFX, editing, 3D modeling, writing, sound design, voice acting, on-camera performance, directing, shooting, set construction, and even miniature-building.

Whether he’s on the road feeding his love of travel or at his desk with a cup (or several cups) of coffee, Harris is continuously exploring new ways to turn ideas into meaningful visual experiences. He thrives on the journey from spark to storyboard to polished masterpiece.

A Perfect Fit for Origin’s Next Chapter

Origin’s Creative Studio exists to bring bold ideas to life for a rapidly growing portfolio of brand partners, through memorable storytelling and craftsmanship. Harris’s vision, skill, and relentless creativity align perfectly with that mission. His experience will help ensure that Origin’s clients - across advertising, brand storytelling, experiential media, and more - will benefit from a creative process that is as imaginative as it is strategic in its objectives.

Since 2019, Origin's dynamic creative ad formats have helped countless brands enrich their message on the most demanding screen in the home. On the appointment of Harris, Origin CEO, Fred Godfrey, said: "If there is one thing CTV advertisers have learnt, and one thing we have confidently and comprehensively proven at Origin - it's that 'the creative matters'. You can have the best data in the world and the most brilliantly planned targeting strategy, but if you truly want your campaign to 'perform' today, then the message you send and story you tell needs to be equally brilliant. It's the essence of advertising, after all."

We’re thrilled to welcome Harris to the team, and we can’t wait for our clients and collaborators to experience the work he’ll help bring to life.
