A passionate Software Engineer whose love for continuous learning and interest in automation, optimization and machine learning is almost contagious, Andrew comes to Origin with the full suite of traits we were looking for.
From his first semester at community college, Andrew discovered his passion for software engineering and since then has been dedicated to expanding his knowledge and expertise across everything 'software'.
Gaining his Bachelors from Utah State University and a Masters from the University of Michigan in Computer Science, Andrew's obsession with learning is both clear and proven by the simple fact that the classes he attended stretched all the way from Applied Machine Learning to Advanced Cryptography.
In his freetime, Andrew likes to work on personal software projects (and occasionally work projects too). To quote him directly "As long as I'm writing code, I'm happy."
When not in front of a computer, Andrew plays basketball every week and loves snowmobiling, dirt biking and cracking jokes with his three brothers.
Before coming to Origin, Andrew was a freelance-Full Stack Engineer, spanning many different types of projects from Custom CRM workflows to AI generated Podcast Notes/Automation. All that mattered was that the next project had to be different to the last.
Finally, when asked why he felt Origin was right for him, Andrew said "I could tell right away that Origin respected me, and that I would be considered based on my skills and personality, and not on memorizing answers or saying just the right thing. I knew that they would treat me and the team right."
