The next stage of Origin’s growth is not simply about reaching more advertisers. It is about making sure our scratch-built, passion-driven creative solutions are accessible to every team involved in deciding how CTV gets bought.
With that in mind, we are extremely happy to welcome Todd Goldberg as Head of Programmatic Partnerships, a role dedicated to accelerating adoption of Origin’s award-winning suite of creative personalization solutions across programmatic teams at agencies and brands.
It is a distinct discipline, and one Todd knows exceptionally well.
Through 20 years in advertising technology, Todd has built his career around helping major advertisers understand, adopt and scale technologies that challenge conventional ways of buying and creating media. At IRIS.TV, where he was an early sales hire and ultimately VP of US Media Partnerships, he worked alongside the founders to develop the company’s go-to-market strategy while building relationships across the increasingly programmatic CTV ecosystem.
Before that, Todd was the first sales hire at immersive advertising platform OmniVirt. There, he helped build the commercial organization around an entirely new generation of interactive and immersive creative formats before the company was ultimately acquired by Facebook.
This combination of proven capabilities matters to us.
Programmatic CTV is its own discipline - with its own teams, workflows, technology, language and commercial considerations. Todd understands how those pieces connect, but equally importantly, he understands how to introduce new creative solutions into an ecosystem built around scale and automation.
His role will complement Origin’s existing work with direct brand, agency and planning teams, giving us dedicated expertise on both sides of an increasingly important divide and helping ensure creative personalization becomes part of the programmatic CTV conversation from the outset, rather than being left by the wayside simply because the media has already been planned (we can hardly count the number of times we're drafted in during a campaign, to ensure teams meet/exceed their KPIs).
Todd also shares one of our more fundamental beliefs about advertising: attention has to be earned.
As he puts it, “Advertising, done well, is a service to the consumer.” It is a deceptively simple idea, but one that sits very comfortably with our own belief that viewers are people first, and impressions second. When it comes to what led him to believe Origin was a suitable new home for his belief that advertisers deserve to be able to 'do it well', Todd said: "Origin's technology, leadership, and clearly close-knit culture made it a compelling opportunity to join a team that builds and succeeds together."
Well said Todd - it sounds like we introduced ourselves in a truly 'Origin' way.
Outside work, Todd is a former Division I tennis player, a Wheel of Fortune alumnus, an undefeated daily New York Times crossword participant and, somewhat less sensibly, has earned places on restaurant walls by completing spicy-food challenges.
Which means there is clearly still plenty for us to question.
Welcome to Origin, Todd.
